Beginners Compound Bow Safety

If you are new to bow hunting might I suggest a critical tip to keep you safe.

Practice shooting at a range until you get very comfortable with your new bow shooting ranges are especially made for this purpose. They will provide you with guidelines to follow and necessary barriers to keep you from harming others.

Most often they will also provide lessons by a professional that will get you off to a good start and teach you to shoot correctly. The small fee is worth the price of the lesson. Like in many sports form is everything.

Once you feel comfortable and are ready to shoot at game, please, please know what you are aiming at. My nephew accidentally shot the neighbors favorite pet goat thinking it was a deer, I cannot tell you how sorry he was to inform them of his mistake, he paid for the goat. But his brothers teased him for years and still do. Thankfully the neighbors forgave him for the accident.

If you have any stories about your first practices let us know it could help someone else have a better day.
